aside from the franchise fee of 250K, a security bond is required. how much would it be? is it refundable after the term?

Hi. I'm an OFW working currently in Dubai. I'd like to give a siomai house franchise to my parents in Pasay City when I go home in May 2011. Would it be better to apply under my name or theirs? would it have higher chances if I send application under my name?

I'm just thinking what the repercussions are if I have it under my name and at the same time I'm residing in Dubai.

Thanks for your advice.

darkBlack said...

depending on who will manage the outlet. what I would advice is to put it under their name since you are usually out of the country, in that way all updates and/or reports regarding the outlet would be conveyed straightly to them

I just wanted to ask how much the cost for the stocks is. How much is the capital for every 4 pcs siomai including the packaging materials, utensils and the condiments that go along with the 4 pcs siomai? In this way, I may also know how much I will earn for every P25 and the target sales I needed to set for myself if ever I'll get a franchise.

Monthly Rental is needed within the application bec. it is one of the basis for approval. After application, monthly rental is used to compute for the sales needed to break even.

If you own the place, ie. monthly rental is taken off the computation

darkBlack said...

There is no minimum or maximum rental cost. The Managers that approve or deny the application have their own rental cost preference depending on the location applied for.

We don't recommend securing the place until the application has been approved.

Hi, I'm interested to become a franchisee of Siomai House. Could you please answer the ff:

1. is the P250k franchise fee on a per cart or per area (city/province)? I see a lot of your foodcarts in Baguio.
2. where will franchisee get the supply - do you have distributor in Baguio-Benguet-La Union-Pangasinan areas?
3. how many franchisees are existing now in these areas?

I'll appreciate very much any info so I will be better guided in my plans.

Luis Lim said...

1. I would like to know how much money I should have aside from the 250,000 pesos franchising fee. Including the space rental, employee payments, etc.

2. What is the average earning per month for the franchisee minus the rental fee, employee payments, etc.? I know that it depends on the location, but what is the usual or average earnings for your Siomai House franchisees?

darkBlack said...

@veren
1. 250k Franchise Fee is a per Outlet payment
2. Franchisees get the supply exclusively from the franchisor which in this case, directly at Siomai House warehouse.
3. Baguio-Benguet-La Union-Pangasinan areas - more or less 30 outlets.

darkBlack said...

@Luis Lim

1. I guess Php 500,000 would do (this is based on my personal opinion, still it depends on how much your rent is, how much would you pay your lessor, basic salary * how many employee will you have, etc.)
2. I can't tell the average earnings per month, it is a very broad question.

Luis Lim said...

Thanks for answering my question. I have another one
1. So 500,000 pesos is the estimated total capital needed in starting a Siomai House franchise, what then is the return of investment with a 500K investment? Is it still estimated at 6 months?

2. Will the franchisor suggest new locations for the store if ever the proposed location is disapproved?

darkBlack said...

@Luis Lim
1. There is no definite answer, but the target for ROI is 6-9 months, still it depends on how your outlet is doing.

2. The franchisor doesn't offer/suggest new locations when proposed location is disapproved
